Anyway, what follows are a poor man's observations of the powerhouse that is Diablo 2; keep in mind however that these impressions are based solely on the stress test. In case you're not familiar with this concept, the purpose of this phase of the beta is just to find out how well the multiplayer servers can handle the stress of thousands of gamers logging online to play Diablo 2 at the same time. This is far different from Blizzard's Diablo 2 closed beta phase, which focused on actual gameplay balance, bug fixes and last-minute content modification. As such, Blizzard trimmed the stress test down to a much smaller size than the closed beta; you can only choose from one class (the Barbarian), complete two different quests, and explore just a fraction of the first part of the game.
