Eidos Announces Salt Lake 2002 - The Official Video Game Of The Olympic Winter Games

 

San Francisco, CA (Nov. 19, 2001) -- Eidos Interactive, a leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment, today announced Salt Lake 2002 – The Official Video Game of the Olympic Winter Games.  The game is being developed by Attention To Detail (ATD) of Warwick, England, and will be available in January 2002 for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and PC.  The Salt Lake 2002 video game is the second product of an exclusive six-year agreement with International Sports Multimedia (ISM) to publish video games under license from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The game combines six official events, authentic Olympic environments and competitive multi-player modes with stunning graphics and TV-style presentation to create a realistic and challenging sports gaming experience.

 

The six official events are Men’s Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom, Men’s Alpine Skiing Downhill, Ladies’ Alpine Skiing Slalom, Men’s Two-man Bobsleigh, Women’s Freestyle Skiing Aerials, and Men’s Ski Jumping K120 Individual.  There are a variety of single and multi-player game modes including Olympic, Classic, Tournament and Freeform.  The game also utilizes the latest motion-capture technology and real-time physics for realistic character movement.
