THQ SHIPS JIMMY NEUTRON: BOY GENIUS FOR PC AND GAME BOY ADVANCE

 

Highly Anticipated Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius Theatrical Premiere Scheduled for December 21st

 


CALABASAS HILLS, Calif. – November 6, 2001 – THQ Inc. (NASDAQ NMS: THQI) and Nickelodeon today announced the release of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius for Game Boyâ Advance and PC.  The games are based on the adventures of Jimmy Neutron, star of Nickelodeon’s highly anticipated, CGI animated holiday 2001 motion picture release, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.  Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius for Game Boy Advance and PC is now available at major retail outlets nationwide.

 

“Nickelodeon has a long history of creating completely original content based on characters and stories that kids simply can’t get enough of,” said Germaine Gioia, vice president, licensing, THQ.  “We are delighted to be partnering with Nickelodeon for their first-ever property launch including simultaneous movie and videogame releases.”

In Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius for the Game Boy Advance players will travel through twenty-four fun-filled levels including Retroville, the Yokian moon, a meteor storm, and a Yokian chase through space.  Four racing levels are also included in Jimmy’s quest to save the world with his best friend Carl Wheezer.  Tons of techno gadgets including a laser gun, a shrink ray, and a grappling hook can be used.  Fans of Jimmy can challenge their friends in a new head-to-head multiplayer mode.

 

In Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genuis for the PC, players can take control of Jimmy through six huge levels including Jimmy’s neighborhood, his school, the local amusement park, and others before a final secret level is revealed.  In his quest to occasionally save the world, Jimmy along with his robot dog, Goddard, utilize cool gadgets such as a jet pack backpack, a rocket ship, a shrink ray gun, and even transform Goddard into a scooter.  Gameplay features will encompass the ability to fly, drive, and hop around in a gravity bubble.
