NCsoft Opens up Halloween Treats for City of Hero and City of Villains Players

Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 18, NCsoft and Cryptic Studios are launching a new expanded version of one of its most popular in-game activities, the Halloween Trick or Treat event in the City of Heroes and City of Villains games.

Beginning at 10 a.m. CST on Oct. 18 and ending on midnight on Nov. 1, players in both “City of …” games will be able to go trick-or-treating. Players can “knock” on random doors in the hero’s Paragon City or in the villain’s Rogue Isles and will receive either treats such as inspirations and temporary powers, or nasty tricks in the form of blood-thirsty ghouls and other creatures. As players defeat the ghouls, they will receive items from a special set of four savage drops that once all are collected can be turned into an additional character costume slot by delivering the salvage to special new contacts in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.

Additionally, pumpkins will appear all over both game environments and giant monsters such as the Jack of Irons and the Pumpkin King, and their minions, will roam the streets adding to the mayhem during the in-game event. Additional treats such as badges will be available for defeating the Halloween-themed monsters.

On the night of Halloween itself, signature heroes and villains will appear at the Pocket D Dance Club to mix and mingle with Halloween revelers.
