Exclusive DAoC Darkness Rising video available on GameZone

Expansion to long-time MMO features Champion Weapons and mounts that can be ridden into combat

A new chapter in the massively multiplayer online title Dark Age of Camelot is on its way. Darkness Rising begins as a new evil threatens the land and the mightiest heroes in the Realms are called into service. To help vanquish the new foe, players can obtain faithful mounts, powerful new weapons, new class abilities, and the right to be called Champions of the Realm.

But to be considered a Champion, players will first have to complete the Champion quest in the expansion to the long-time MMO. The reward for so completing it will be a Champion weapon. Champion weapons are granted to players by the King at the first step of the level 50 portion of the Champion’s Quest. As a player continues down the path of the quest the King will periodically boost the spells and visual quality of that weapon for players. The final result of the weapon will be visually stunning, complete with moveable features (i.e. spinning blades and slithering snake staves).

Also, as part of the new expansion, for the first time, players will be able to charge into battle on to backs of majestic player-controlled warhorses and other more fantastic steeds, such as unicorns and nightmares. Each mount can be embellished and customized with a wide variety of barding, saddlebags, and armor.

GameZone.com has exclusive gameplay footage of the new expansion from Mythic Entertainment and it can be found at http://downloads.gamezone.com/demos/d13344.htm.
