Popular Gamebryo® 3D Engine Behind Wide Variety of Genres, Titles at E3 Flexible 3D
Engine Allows Developers to Lower Costs While Creating Award Winning Titles
LOS ANGELES AND CHAPEL HILL, N.C., (May 19, 2005) -- NDL's Gamebryo® 3D graphics engine is Because of its flexibility, developers around the world are using Gamebryo to create titles ranging from Role Playing to Strategy to Action games.being used in a wide variety of genres and titles at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). NDL will privately demonstrate Gamebryo's capabilities in Kentia Hall # 7108 and # 7110, held from May 18-20, 2005 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Recent and upcoming Gamebryo supported titles include Sid Meier's Pirates!, Sid Meier's Civilization IV, Empire Earth II®, Freedom Force vs. The 3rd Reich, Dark Age of Camelot: Darkness Rising, Imperator, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Guilds II and STACKED™ with Daniel Negreanu, a Texas Hold ‘em Poker game. " Gamebryo's flexibility provides developers and publishers with the freedom to create an unlimited variety of genres and titles," said John Austin, president and chief executive officer of NDL. "Because of its unique capabilities, a growing list of award-winning developers are now using the Gamebryo 3D engine and tools to create hit games in less time, for less money and with reduced development risks."
Variety of Gamebryo Supported Titles Demonstrated at E3
Sid Meier's Pirates! for the Xbox is one of the most anticipated titles this year and will be on display at the 2K Games booth (South Hall, Booth 968), and the Microsoft Xbox Booth (SouthHall, Booth 1246). Gamebryo's cross platform engine enabled Firaxis to easily deliver the title on the Xbox and PC (which was released in November 2004 and named Top 5 Game of the Year by Time Magazine). Based on their recent success using Gamebryo for Sid Meier's Pirates! Firaxis is now also using Gamebryo in the creation of Sid Meier's Civilization IV®, which will be on display at the 2K Games booth (South Hall, Booth 968). Using the Gamebryo graphics engine, Firaxis will deliver new 3D graphics, advanced multiplayer gameplay and stunning new features to the next iteration of the legendary Sid Meier's Civilization series.
Bethesda Softworks is currently developing The Elder Scrolls® IV: Oblivion™ for PC and next generation consoles using Gamebryo. Oblivion is another leap forward in role-playing with its combination of freeform gameplay and cutting-edge graphics. Oblivion is the sequel to the best-selling, award-winning role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind®, named 2002 RPG and Game of the Year for both PC and Xbox. Mythic Entertainment is previewing two new products at the show, all of which use the Gamebryo technology. The first is the next expansion for the hit MMORPG, Dark Age of Camelot, Darkness Rising. Mythic is also showing its upcoming title Imperator , a sci-fi MMORPG is set in a future world where Ancient Rome never fell. Mythic's booth is located in the Concourse Hall, booth 5001C.
5000ft, Inc. is currently developing STACKED™ with Daniel Negreanu , an online multiplayer Texas Hold ‘Em game for the Xbox, PC, the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the PSP™ (PlayStation® Portable) entertainment system.
