PLAY BALL! EA SHIPS MVP BASEBALL 2003 ON THE PLAYSTATION 2 AND XBOX
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 11, 2003 - MVP! MVP! MVP! Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced the release of MVP Baseball™ 2003 from EA SPORTS™ on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Xbox™ video game system from Microsoft. A PC version will ship on March 25, 2003.
This is a whole new ballgame… knock the dirt off your spikes for the first season of MVP Baseball 2003, an all-new reengineered baseball franchise under the EA SPORTS brand. MVP Baseball 2003 incorporates a new pitcher/batter interface that allows players to be more strategic with their pitching and batting. An all-new "picture-in-picture" on-base view will create an added dimension and strategy to base running. Realistic stadiums and highly detailed player models and animations bring the baseball action to life. Adding to the depth of the game, MVP Baseball 2003 includes a robust franchise mode that incorporates rookie drafts, player development, career ending injuries, contracts and hirings/firings.
MVP Baseball 2003 is rated "E" (Everyone) and carries an MSRP of $49.99. The all-new baseball game from EA SPORTS is equipped with a rebuilt engine and is developed by a new internal team at EA Canada. About the PC Version
In addition to the features offered in the console version, MVP Baseball 2003
for the PC will include online multiplayer features such as tournaments and
match-up play on EA SPORTS Online* and network play via LAN and Direct IP
connections. Downloadable rosters will assure that players have the most current
line-ups for each Major League Baseball® team. The PC version of MVP Baseball
2003 is being developed by EA Canada and will ship on March 25, 2003.
