U.S. Home Version for PlayStation® Receives Enthusiastic Reception as Consumers Eagerly Await the March 2001 Release

 

REDWOOD CITY, California, January 22, 2001 ­ Konami of America, Inc. revealed today the retail prices and song listing of the North American home version of Dance Dance Revolution (DDR). Following in the footsteps of the console game¹s arcade cousin, DDR features a wide variety of pulsating dance music including pop, disco, techno, house, Latin, drum n¹ bass, hip-hop and more. The U.S. home version will be available in March 2001 and will be compatible with the Sony PlayStation® and backwards compatible with the Sony PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. Music and game enthusiasts can boogie into their local retail stores to purchase the game and dance pad in the following configurations:

 

1) A stand-alone PlayStation® game at an SRP of $29.99. 

2) A stand-alone dance pad accessory that re-creates the arcade experience for a SRP of $49.99. 3) The PlayStation® game and dance pad bundled together for a SRP of $59.99.
