CDV's Mario Kroll chats about the company, 2008 outlook
Software publisher shows off pair of titles at San Francisco media event
CDV has a long history when it comes to publishing solid real-time strategy titles, but the times – as Bob Dylan stated – are a’changing. With the merger of several publishers in 2007 and, apparently, several more mergers looming, it tends to put a bit of pressure on smaller companies to keep up.
CDV is aware of that and has been working hard to not only acquire solid titles, but to move beyond its solid PC foundations and explore other platforms.
Of course, that was not why there was a media event in the Orchard Hotel in San Francisco. That event was for CDV to show off a pair of PC titles, with strong RTS bases, that will be launching in early March – Sudden Strike 3 and Stranger. But when the opportunity arose to sit down and chat with Mario Kroll (CDV USA’s director, PR and marketing guru), GameZone snapped it up.
The discussion wove through many areas, such as CDV’s positioning for the 2008 gaming market, the titles on hand and what else the future might hold for the company.
