A mouse pad to rule them all

Do you remember one of your first PC’s? What was one accessory that you had to get and it sort of “personalized” your computer, especially when you were really short on funds? The answer to that was your mouse pad, and this was especially true with the earlier versions of the mouse that used a ball, instead of laser or optical. The reason being as it always helps with the response time and reliability that your pointer will be where you directed it to be.

With the advent of the optical mouse and now the laser it is extremely rare to see a mouse pad anywhere near a computer that I use today. As a matter of fact, I checked around my office today and found that only two pc’s had them. When I was told that I would receive a mouse pad I was skeptical on what functions it would have as well as any advantages. So what makes the SteelPad 5L so unique is a question that you might ask yourself, and the secret as people say, is in the “sauce.” What I mean by this is the material that this pad is made out of. The first layer is a plastic coating that is really makes this pad durable and keeps the cloth texture underneath it clean. The cloth layer is below the plastic, and it is pretty strong and has a nice background design on it. Next up is the soft polyisoprene (rubber) that is really soft and really makes it easier on your wrists for those intense gaming sessions. Next up is the hard plastic which keeps the shape of the pad intact. Last up is the rubber elements on the bottom of the pad that keeps the mouse pad in place during those active gaming moments.

Well after writing all of this out, the question remains what does this all meant to you? Well, I tested many games on my PC and I must say that even though I really didn’t notice any real increases in response time, I did like the fact that this huge mouse pad is really comfortable to keep my wrists on during those gaming sessions.

Pros:
There are two things that are really good about this mouse pad. The first is the rubber coating at the bottom which makes this mouse pad stay firmly in place. Next up is the soft cotton top that really helps out on the wrists.

Cons:
This is one expensive mouse pad.

Personally I do not like using mouse pads, I think they are a thing of the past, especially since my laser mouse is extremely accurate, but I know many people out there enjoy and rely on them everyday. The SteelPad 5L is a really sturdy and nice mouse pad that will help you out during intense gaming sessions especially thanks to the rubber at the bottom that keeps it in place.
