You enter Beyond Atlantis II as a female archeologist speeding across the desert in search of a secret Egyptian dig site.  The fact that your not in Egypt doesn't matter, all the clues point here.  However after swerving to avoid a stray gazelle...(do gazelles live in the desert?)...you wreck your car and pass out.  Luckily, you are rescued by a vengeful desert nomad who is bent on killing a group of soldiers that has taken over a well used by his people.  Against his advice, you follow him to their camp and that's where the adventure begins.

Beyond Atlantis II is an adventure/puzzle game, which offers the standard 360 viewing capability and a frame-by-frame style of movement.  The graphics are pretty well rendered and at times even good enough to be creepy.   However the movement is choppy and it takes an unbearably long time for it to actually move after you click in a direction.  I found the main characters voiceover odd.  I don't know what kind off accent she has, and that bothered me.  But aside from personal issues, the voiceovers are pretty well done. The music however is not particularly engaging and thus the atmosphere suffers a bit.

The puzzles that are the meat of this game are often fairly long, requiring many operations to performed one after another.  However there are some, which are based solely on your observational skills.  These can be really annoying.  When you’re looking for a small item, in the corner, in the dark, you'll know what I mean.

The concept of an archeologist traveling after mystical treasure through perilous circumstances is obviously not a new one either in movies or video games.  While this title comes up with some interesting new ideas when presenting the realities you travel to, the game itself is just another adventure/puzzle game.

Install: Medium
For some reason it wouldn’t install from my dvd/cd drive so I had to use my other one.  Other than that it was a breeze.

Gameplay: 6
Choppy movement, good puzzles.

Graphics: 8
Pretty smooth.

Sound: 7.5
Lots of voiceovers and great sound effects however the music was lacking

Difficulty: 8
For the most part the puzzles were not too hard to solve if you had some patience.

Concept: 5
Nothing particularly new in gameplay though the story had some twists.

Multiplayer: N/A

Overall: 7
Not a bad game but not an outstanding one.
