Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Review
Are you a muggle that has been longing to be a wizard? Well here is your chance to enroll at the Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and become a first-year wizard!! At Hogwart's you will learn about all things that are magical. You will take several spell casting lessons from the different professors at Hogwart's that will aid you in the quest to save the Sorcerer's Stone from evil hands. There are challenging puzzles, wizard cards to be found, Bernie Botts Every Flavor Beans, and Chocolate frogs. The goal is to do well in all challenges and earn points to win the house cup.
You will interact with over 20 amazing characters from the book (or movie) including your sidekicks Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. You have many things to accomplish in this fun filled game. You have to learn spells in each of your classes. You simply learn them by following the pattern with your wand (mouse) in the specific amount of time. Take your spells and use them while solving puzzles and getting through many obstacles throughout the game. And best of all, you will get to play the popular wizard world game of Quidditch. Your goal is of the Seeker and your job is to find the Golden Snitch to win the game!! All this while riding your infamous Nimbus 2000!! Avoid those bludger's that try and knock you silly!
What I liked best about the game was the ease of play. You didn’t have to fumble through spells to see what works. If a spell could be cast, the appropriate spell would be used automatically. The challenges increased with difficulty as the game progressed which gave it that I gotta try one more time feel. However with no multi-player, and virtually no replay ability after you have solved it, hardcore gamers may stay away from it. But, if you are one of the millions of people who are devoted Harry Potter fans whether it be the movie, or the books. By all means you absolutely have to check this out!

Install: Easy
No brainer
Gameplay: 8
Short learning curve, third person
view gets a bit tricky at times.
Graphics: 7
Average at best
but still enjoyable
Sound: 8
Decent sound
effects and music
Difficulty: 7
No adjustments for difficulty, but
the puzzles and monsters do get more difficult as the game progresses.
Concept: 7
Another
book/movie marketing scheme, but the game is quite fun.
Multiplayer: N/A
Overall: 8
Geared towards
the HP fans. I would suspect that gamers not familiar with the story would
not find this game as fun as the fans will.
