Set 20 years into the future, Kaos Studios has set high goals for their upcoming first-person shooter, Homefront. Battling against Koreans who, for the majority, sport yellow goggles to give you those evil beady cat eyes, the war is now set in America as players will defend suburbia and help the resistance fend off the invaders.

Working with John Milius, the writer/director of Red Dawn and writer for Apocalypse Now, along with Richard Machowicz from Discovery Channel’s “Future Weapons”, Kaos Studios is going all out to assure their fans a quality FPS.

In their effort to liberate the country, players will gain the use of weapons that are currently in the prototype stage for the military. A Goliath, a prototype vehicle, was shown as it busted through a wall of a house and trampled over cars parked in the street as if it were a monster truck. This Goliath helped create surreal moments where players dictate the battle and create a more cinematic way to tell a story.

Within the video, the main squadron of protagonists was being attacked as their position was compromised. During their conquest to fend off attackers and find safety, planes flew over dropping in bombs, hummers battle on the streets, rockets were being shot at the enemy and, if they hit a car, sent a car tumbling down the street and much more. The combat was intense and it looked quite great in action too with its modified Unreal 3.0 graphics engine.

Not much was ready to be revealed about the multiplayer, but the representative was able to confirm that no cooperative or offline splitscreen modes will be provided. Instead, System Link and Online multiplayer are being figured into the multiplayer functions along with another huge warfare to join in similar to Frontlines: Fuels of War.

With no release date on the calendar, we look forward to seeing more of Homefront as it is revealed over the rest of the year.
