Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs Preview
E3 2006 First Look Preview
Age of Empires III carried on the series’ legacy of deep and engaging strategy gameplay, in terms of building civilizations and commanding military units. The game gave players an in-depth look at history and the battles fought between nations as far back as hundreds of years ago.
Now, Microsoft is gearing up their first expansion to their critically acclaimed strategy game, although this time it will have a bit of a twist. Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs now puts gamers in control of three different Native American civilizations, each with their own unique traits and areas of specialty. The expansion gives players a bevy of cool new features and carries the series’ pedigree quite nicely.
The WarChiefs expansion allows you to play as three different Native American civilizations: The Iroquois, the Sioux, and another civilization not yet disclosed. They each will have their own skills and areas in which they are proficient as well as their own distinct units and structures. Also, another interesting factor in the game is the WarChief unit themselves, which will basically function as hero units, rallying troops and being laudable.
The WarChiefs is shaping up to be a
very good expansion pack to a very well-received game, and should be a logical
progression of Age of Empires III. Look for it to hit Q4 2006.
