E3 2006 First Look Preview

In WWII, there was apparently an actual unit that was formed strictly for the purpose of rooting out and killing spies. Since we’ve seen a lot of WWII games hit store shelves, 1C has decided to take a little different approach to the famous conflict by doing a lot of research and allowing you to play as one of these spy eliminator units.  

The demo showcased the action in a third person perspective, and the game will have you relying heavily on stealth and infiltration of enemy areas. There is a health meter and a map to help you locate enemies and objectives similar to other stealth titles, but Death to Spies also includes an enemy awareness meter which will help determine whether or not you may be seen or recognized. This not only includes making too much noise or being too much out in the open, but you will also be able to take the clothing of enemies you knock out … shooting them will get blood on the uniform and the AI is smart enough to recognize things like this or even carrying a Russian issued gun instead of a German one. You can even do things like booby trap an enemies corpse so that when his buddies flip him over to see what happens … BOOM! You now have a clear path. 

While there have been WWII games out there, this one offers some new things to the genre and gives you stealth fans a reason to check out the famous war too. Keep your eyes open for Death to Spies in 4Q 2006 or 1Q 2007
