E3 2006 First Look Preview

One of the games that was showcased at E3 by The Adventure Company is a title based on actual events … well sort of. Secret Files of Tunguska is an adventure game which takes place in Russia and revolves around a giant explosion which took place in 1908. Supposedly, there was a large amount of TNT that went off, but the game centers around a meteor shower and a man who suddenly disappears while investigating. You play as his daughter, and set off to find out what has happened to him.

The game mechanics will be very familiar to anyone who plays adventure games, with the viewpoint being third person and items throughout the different screens that you can click on and interact with. There is also a hint system that is built in for these interactive items as well, and while it won’t solve the puzzles for you, it will give you some tips as to where to look or what to check out. The game will also take place in multiple different countries and locations, so you will have a lot to see and do as you try to track down your missing father.

Secret Files of Tungaska is due out for the PC in August, and the developers are working hard to offer a solid storyline with a suspenseful conspiracy / government cover up style atmosphere, like being kidnapped or followed in various parts of the game.
