Theseis Preview
E3 2006 First Look Preview
What is a Theseis you ask? Well, it is actually a Greek term for a strong document or a strong idea. Track 7 (who is actually headquartered in Greece) is looking to release Theseis in early to mid 2007, and while it will definitely be on PC they are looking to possibly release it for the Xbox as well.
The game revolves around a mysterious Theseis and opens up 2500 years prior to the game. Romans come invade a Greek temple to steal the Theseis, but before they can a student takes it and hides it in Hades. Years later, two characters who run a paranormal website are contacted by a mysterious man to go and find this relic, and the story that unfolds will have a lot of twists, turns, and conspiracies as you race to obtain it first.
Along the way, players will get to do a lot of Indiana Jones style exploration, and the game is already showing off some nice graphics like cobwebs glimmering only when the light hits them the right way and some nifty flashlight and shadowing effects in some creepy looking areas. Locations, caves, and ancient artwork and mosaics will also be historically accurate and very detailed. One good thing about Track 7 being in Greece is the fact that they were actually able to go out to locations to make the game reflect as much realism as possible, which should definitely add to the player’s experience.
The
completed title will feature multiple endings and many paths to choose from to
help make for a unique experience. There will also be some good solid
exploration and item finding, puzzles to solve, and no real time blood or gore
which can also make this a good title to play with a younger adventure gamer
too. In addition, Track 7 is also using it’s own graphics engine and unique
soundtrack which were doing a good job of adding to the environment so far.
