Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales Preview
E3 2006 First Look Preview
One of the previous games that I had the opportunity to preview was Age of Pirates: Captain Blood. Playlogic is also releasing a second third person action title by the name of Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales, and while Blood looks to give the player a lot of hack and slash action … Caribbean Tales instead looks to focus more on storyline and character building since the object is to visit and eventually conquer all of the Caribbean Islands.
When you play Caribbean Tales and take control of your pirate, you will be able to do a number of things like hiring crews, perfecting all of your personal skills (leadership, etc.), upgrading or buying better ships, and you can even focus more on playing as a pirate or focus more on merchant style gameplay by buying merchandise at a low cost in one area and then selling high at another port in order to make some cash. In addition, when you level up you will also get a number of skill points that are then divided up and can be allocated or split between such things as swordsmanship, pistols, or as stated … upgrading your vessel.
Graphically, Caribbean Tales is shaping up to be another solid third person action title based more around a pirate’s life … and will be more for you buccaneers out there looking to do a little more than sail around and kill people. If this sounds like something you might be interested in, be keeping an eye out here at GameZone for further details as we get them.
