The award-winning franchise of Call of Duty is about to step it up a notch.

In fall of this year, Gray Matter and Activision will be releasing Call of Duty: United Offensive for the PC. If you want one word to describe the innovations brought to this title, about the only one that comes close, those is still woefully inadequate, is “wow!”

Gray Matter has inserted a new particle system into the game, which translates into some of the most spectacular effects yet. A shell hits the ground, erupting into a fragment-rich smoke cloud. But in the middle of that smoke is a fountain of dirt, shooting skyward and then falling back down in clumps. You can even hear the rain of the dirt.

United Offensive is an expansion for the Call of Duty series. To that end, the game will bring in more than 10 new missions, and nine new multiplayer maps. There are three different campaigns with definitive beginning, middle and end structures. And a few of the avatars from the original story will be back as well.

This title promises a robust single-player experience, with bigger maps and tanks will be introduced in the multiplayer game. Players can even take on the role of a gunner on a B-17 bomber, fending off enemy fighter-plane attacks.

As always, Call of Duty endeavors to put players into the maelstrom of some of the most chaotic battles of World War II. It is a mind-numbing whirlwind of sight and sound that pummels the senses. United Offensive seeks to build on that feeling. New effects, new missions and campaigns, and the dynamic sights and sound of this game will combine to make this an eye-opening, ear-popping, thoroughly incredible experience.

This is a PC only title slated for release in the fall.
