It has been a long day at work; your boss was constantly on your back trying to get a project out the door today. Every minute of the day all you could think about is going home and taking a nice long and hot shower. Finally the time has arrived for you to go home, and when you do you head for that shower. While you are in the shower the phone rings, you hop out of the shower because you are waiting for a call from a friend about the plans for that night. When you step out of the shower you slip on a bar of soap and you land on your arm. You are feeling extraordinary pain, and you need to find out what happened and get it fixed, but where do you do? Of course you head on to the hospital and to the ER. The men and women who work here have dedicated their lives to help other people.

After many successful seasons the television series, ER, is finally getting a game of their own. Players will take the role of a newly hired intern and they will help people who come in that have minor injuries including bruises and small cuts. As you obtain more experience you will deal with more serious matters, such people who have been in accidents and victims of violent crimes. Throughout the course of the game you will meet and team up with various cast members of the television show such as Noah Wyle, Mekhi Phifer, and many others. It will be your job your your responsibility to save the life of anyone who comes into the ER, are you up to this formidable challenge?

The game is played in a top-down isometric perspective, very reminiscent of the Sims. When you first load the game you will create a character that is skilled at various fields of medicine. Depending on the skill level of the doctor you create depends on what types of injuries you can start treating in the beginning of the game. If you try to cure someone who has a higher rated injury than you have in that skill, than other people will see you are being arrogant and a show off. If you have a high skill rating in one field and try to help someone with a low-level injury other doctors will see you as being lazy. So players will want to balance out the patients that they treat. In order to become a successful doctor you will have to have a high “approval” rating from your fellow doctors as well as a high success rate in all that you do.

Since this game is based off the show, if you will know what to expect at the accurately modeled Chicago County General Hospital. Since you are a new intern, you will be expected to do all of the manual tasks that the senior doctors tell you in the beginning of the game. Such as bandage up minor cuts on people, as well as other things. As you work your way up in the game you will get heavy and more critical patience that will try your patience as you try to help them in time.

What makes this game really unique is that it really combines many different game genre formulas and puts them into one nice and neat little package. First off for those people who love the Sims they will know what to expect as they will want to have good relationships with many other people in the hospital. For those who like RPGs there is a pretty good storyline as well as leveling up their characters so that they can help more people down the road. And if you like action, then this game will keep you on your toes as there is always a person that will need assistance.

The shows main characters have lent their voice and likeness to this game so it feels all the more authentic. For fans of this show this will be a real treat to them. The graphics are pretty nice as well and the character models and animations are not that bad either.

This game is really interesting and a nice break from games that are similar in this genre. If you are a fan of this TV show, or like “Sim” style games, then you will want to check this game out.
