All the action and excitement of the great film is coming to a console near you in The Great Escape. The game expands on the plot of the movie, giving you the ability to play as Steve McQueen’s character, Capt. Virgil Hilts, or you can take control of other characters from the game to further the story. The game moves beyond the plot of the movie, offering a back story of the events leading up to the movie, in which a group of Allied prisoners stage an escape from a German POW camp in World War II.

The game features various modes of gameplay, ranging from all out action and vehicle stages to stealth and puzzle sections. The build which I saw was in pretty good shape and had some pretty impressive graphics and smooth framerates. As an added bonus, the game will feature the likeness of Steve McQueen and some of his delivered lines from the famous movie. The atmosphere of the game was looking pretty nice, and managed to do a great job of capturing the adventurous essence of the film. The Great Escape is set to be released in July across the PlayStation 2, X-Box and PC.
