Hellboy is based on the best-selling Dark Horse Comic about the world's leading paranormal investigator. Created by the highly respected comic strip artist and writer Mike Mignola, he is best known for his work with DC and Marvel Comics. Highlight comics of Mignola's includes Bram Stoker's Dracula, Batman, and The Hulk. Hellboy comics have sold millions throughout America and Europe. Due to the recent resurgence of comic book heroes and the release of the new X-Men movie, Dark Horse Interactive have been negotiating with top Hollywood production studios about adapting Hellboy into a full length feature film similar to other recently successful comic spin-offs including Blade and Spawn. The movie, which has the working title of Hellboy 2002, is to be directed by Guillermo del Toro, and casts actor Ron Perlman as Hellboy. The Game The year is 1962. Two secret agents, Hellboy and Sarah are sent on a mission to Czechoslovakia to find one of their missing agents. The assignment turns into a nightmare when they find themselves locked up in a lunatic asylum where they discover more than they bargained for. Someone in the asylum is trying to open a gateway that will give passage to the forces of darkness, unleashing unimaginable terror on the world. Will Hellboy manage to stop this terrible prophecy? His quest will lead him into the most terrifying of places and force him to defy the laws of time, and you will be there, every step of the way. As a computer game, Hellboy commands a mysterious and unnerving atmosphere somewhere between Edgar Allan Poe in his most sombre hours and H.P. Lovecraft in his most terrifying moments. The game alternates between traps, puzzles and combat sequences where thought is just as important as reflexes and dexterity. Hellboy is a true action/adventure game in real time 3D.
