Description
Backgammon is played by two players on a board with pieces that look like checkers (called stones). Each player has fifteen stones of one color that are placed along the 24 points (the triangular spaces) on the board. The points are assigned consecutive numbers. The board is divided into two halves by a center partition called the bar (the center partition that divides the board into two halves or tables). Board notation refers to the numbers indicating the points on the board. Many different systems use different notations.
